MUSIC LESSON AWARDS
Awards are made for deserving young musicians to study trad. jazz through private music lessons. These awards are based on talent, desire, and need.
TRAD. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
The STJS Traditional Jazz Camp in begin in 1985 for youth musicians (ages 12–18), and in 2000 for adult musicians. Scholarships are awarded annually for this week-long summer camp in Sly Park (Sierra foothills). Students learn about sightreading music charts, improvisation, performance, and teamwork within a band. It's a positive social experience where bonding friendships are made, and campers can feel like part of a musical family.
