The Trad Jazz Youth Band Festival (TJYBF) is pleased to be granting these festival awards and scholarships,
to be announced at the
6 pm Awards and Encore Performances Concert. Awards are subject to change based on available funding.

Music Lesson Awards

$250 value ea.:
• 2 elementary or middle school students, and
• 2 high school students

Award Medallions

For BEST: Banjo/Guitar, Bass/Tuba, Clarinet/Sax, Drums, Piano, Trombone, Trumpet, and Vocals in each of the three age-group divisions: middle school, high school, and college.

Kenton O. Smith Traditional Jazz College Scholarships

$500 each scholarship:
• 1 for Outstanding College Musician
• 1 for Outstanding Jazz Club College Musician
• 1 for Outstanding Sac State University Musician

– 1 $425 scholarship for Outstanding High School Clarinet.

STJS Trad Jazz Camp
(YOUTH camp: last week in July; ADULT camp: first wk. in August)

– 2 Partial-Scholarships ($300 value ea.) to YOUTH Trad. Jazz Camp for young musicians (age 12-18):
• 1 middle school student, and
• 1 high school student.
Funded by the STJS Foundation.

– 2 Partial-Scholarships ($400 value ea.) to ADULT Trad Jazz Camp for a college student (age 19, sophomore or older).
Funded by the Petruk family, and raffle ticket donations, and Entertainment Book sales at STJS monthly "Jazz Sunday" concerts.
